Toddler Eaten by Leopard in Queen Elizabeth national park

Leopard in Uganda

The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) were on Monday hunting for a corpse of a three year old kid that was eaten by leopard in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It was reported that the hungry leopard snatched a three-year-old kid, son of a female ranger working in the park.

The young boy had been left in the care of a maid at the un-fenced staff quarters of a safari lodge in the Queen Elizabeth National Park, when he was taken by the leopard on Friday night.

According to the UWA spokesman, Bashir Hangi it was established that the child had followed the nanny outdoors. “The maid was not aware the child followed her. She heard the kid scream for help, she intervened but it was too late the leopard had vanished with it in the bush and a search was mounted until we got the skull the next day,” he said.

“The hunt is on with the intention of capturing the leopard and removing it from the wild because once it has eaten human flesh, the temptations are high to eat another human being, it becomes dangerous,” he added.

It has been also established that all UWA staff have been ordered to keep their children off the park. This is due to that the park is home to wild animals and children are not secure to live within the wilderness area.
