The deputy chief justice Alphonse Owiny Dollo said that five cases put up against the age limit lifting last year by Uganda Law Society, Lawyer male Mabirizi, former presidential candidate Abeid Bwanika and six opposition legislators shall be combined into one case. This is done to avoid replication of the same cases.
The deputy chief justice echoed” the hearing of the five petition cases against the age limit of the president shall be heard in Mbale and it will be in a quick session to avoid time wastage.
The petitioner somewhat rebuked the transferring of the five petitions to Mbale
Elias Lukwago who is one of the lawyers against the age limit said that taking the cases from Kampala to Mbale is harsh for them.
Mayor Lukwago urged that time will be wasted as Mbale is not convenient to them since they do not operate their duties in the areas.
Despite of the debate and bickering between the judiciary and the petitioners the chief judge said that Mbale is part of Uganda and the cases shall be heard from there.
